The Trader Workstation offers Options Traders advanced selection and filtering menus to enable you to see only the strikes and expirations you are interested in trading. OptionTrader is an integrated suite of options tools allowing you to view, analyze, manage and trade options from a single customizable screen. This optimized feature window provides streaming option chain data, with access to pricing tools, risk analytics and quick-click spread and order entry with complete order management. The TWS OptionTrader shares the common elements that allow you to view market data and monitor the change in price of the underlying while you create and manage orders, view executions and evaluate risk with real time position updates from this stand-alone window. The trader tool layout at the top of this window includes multiple panels to monitor the price of an underlying, display option chains, Greek risk measures as well as create and manage option and spread orders, all on a single customizable window. Option pricing data has built-in information that can play a role in understanding market sentiment with information such as Volatility Change, Option Volume change, Put Call ratios and Open Interest. If not visible, activate the Statistics panel with the "S" icon above the quote panel. Use the pane's configuration wrench to find all available fields. Strategy Builder is integrated in the stand alone window to allow for complex spread strategies, without leaving the OptionTrader. Options chains are listed by Last Trading Date LTD. Tabs across the weekly of the panel show upcoming expiries. Monthly contracts show white text, available weekly contracts display yellow text. Click More to display all available expirations, including weekly, monthly and quarterly expirations when available. With the Toolbar enabled, the Show Volatility button lets you view all option prices in volatility - instead of the option prices. Right brokers on column headers in any of the panels or use the wrench icon to access Global Configuration screens — for example customize the option interactive with the Greek risk measures Delta, Gamma, Vega, Theta, etc. Closing the OptionTrader window resets the tool to it's defaut values. To retain multiple OptionTrader tabs minimize the window—DO NOT close. In the Option Chains section: When created, an order row appears on the Orders tab with default values. Edit order criteria then Transmit. Order remains visible until filled. Executions can be viewed on the Trades tab. View filled orders for current trading session. For Spreads use the plus icon to expand and view individual fill prices for each leg. Use the Strategy Builder tab to create both simple and complex multi-leg spreads from the option chain display. Before you transmit an order, right-click on the order row and select Check Risk to monitor the potential change in your risk profile. For a more complete risk profile, use the IB Risk Navigator. The Performance Profile helps demonstrate the key performance characteristics of an option or complex option strategy — before you submit the trade. If Order Previews are enabled, there's also a check box to open the Performance Profile. This integrated performance profile, allows you to quickly and efficiently compare, analyze, and modify these strategies before placing your trades. Certain options, including those subject to corporate actions, may not be able to be exercised with this method and you may need to place a manual ticket to customer service. Prior to expiration, you can choose to roll interactive an open options contract by closing your existing contract and opening a new option position at a different expiration, strike price or both with the TWS Roll Builder. To access the Roll Builder go to your portfolio page and Right click on an individual options contract to launch the Roll Builder. Right click on an individual leg to find the Roll button. TWS Roll Builder options with Option Chains listed by Expiry and Strike price. Additional LTD and strikes can be added using the button in the upper right. Select the 'roll to' contract an you'll see a calendar spread populate in the order entry panel included with the Roll Builder. Access the Weekly Exercise window from the Mosaic Account menu or in Classic TWS from the Trade menu. The Option Exercise window shows actionable Long positions listed on top and non-actionable Short positions at the bottom. These fields display values at expiration and brokers highlighted in red. All other times the value is "0". The projected values in these fields include the anticipated account value including the expiring contract. To see just the projected margin and excess liquidity values for the expiring contract, double click the entry in the Account Information window. Chart Volatility — In Chart Parameters icon under the What to Show drop down, you can select as the main focus of the chart as: Historical Volatility, Option Implied Volatility, Option Open Interest or Option Volume. Estimated Price Range lets you show the standard deviation cone of 1, 2, or 3 SDs calculated on option implied volatility and the three-sigma rule. Two option trading tools, Rollover Options and Write Options allow you to easily set up option rollovers, and efficiently write calls or puts against your existing long or short stock positions from this multi-tabbed tool. Pencil icon allows you to edit the automatically selected contracts. To avoid deliveries in expiring option and future option contracts, you must roll forward or close out positions prior to the close of the last trading day. Use the Option Rollover to retrieve all options held in your portfolio about to expire and roll them over to a similar option with a later expiration date. The Options Rollover tool has a Details sidecar that displays when you click a contract in the Review Options to Roll section. You can also use the right-menu from a contract and select Details. Collars are also supported so you can write calls and buy puts for long stock positions or buy calls and sell puts for short positions. Simply check both Sell Calls and Buy Puts in the Describe section. Additional columns populate based on your inputs. Always see your prediction alongside the market implied calculation. The Volatility Lab provides a snapshot of past and future readings for volatility on a stock, its industry peers and some measure of the broad market. Gauge and view what the option interactive is projecting for a stock's future direction based upon its historical movement with the tabs along the bottom of the frame to view Implied Volatility, Historical Volatility and Industry Comparisons. Market Data information for option chains drives the data in the integrated analytical tools accessible from the OptionTrader toolbar. View your portfolio risk for multiple asset classes and assess specific risk slices of your portfolio, such as risk by position, risk by underlying, and risk by industry with the TWS Risk Navigator SM The Risk Navigator feature lets you quickly identify exposure to risk starting at the portfolio level, with drill-down access into successively deeper levels of detail within multiple report views. You can modify the date, price and volatility for your portfolio, a subset of your portfolio or a specific underlying and the IB Risk Navigator will display the results of your Custom View alongside the current market view of the risk report data. To create a custom view, open a report and on the View menu select Custom Scenario. The Option Analytics window has been updated. Use the Model Navigator to modify pricing assumptions and recalculate the model price. The Model Navigator window comprises three main sections: Use to modify option pricing assumptions, including the volatility, interest rates and dividends, and have the Model Navigator use these values in its option model price calculations. Model prices, when added to the Option Chain fields display in a range of colors for a quick glance indication of where they fall in relation to the current bid and ask prices.
